Volume 2 — Cosmic Architecture
Volume 2 Notation and Symbolic Conventions
To maintain rigor across the complex synthesis of crystallography, fluid dynamics, and general relativity, we adopt the following symbolic conventions for Volume 2.
Lattice Coordinates
- : The integer coordinate vector in the 6-dimensional Euclidean parent lattice.
- : The physical 3D position vector, representing the projection of the 6D lattice into the parallel (physical) space.
- : The internal 3D position vector, representing the projection into the perpendicular (internal) space.
Projection Matrices
- : The matrix performing the projection from the 6D hyper-lattice to the physical 3D manifold.
- : The matrix performing the projection to the internal perpendicular manifold.
- : The orthogonality condition ensuring the independence of the physical and internal dimensions.
Elastic Moduli and Ratios
- : The phonon stiffness, representing the bulk modulus of the "Hard" lattice modes (Planck scale).
- : The phason stiffness, representing the modulus of the "Soft" topological modes.
- [Tier 2 integer-identification (H_3 Shephard-Todd anchor) + Tier 3 physical-link conjecture (pending O.15(b))]: The geometric suppression factor defining the scale of light and gravity. The Tier 2 mechanism is that phason modes are parametrically softer than phonons by a -power ratio (icosahedral cut-and-project framework). The specific exponent is the unique icosahedral anchor: the Shephard-Todd invariant-degree sum , sum (uniquely among rank-3 Coxeter groups: , , ; Humphreys 1990). The 2D-RT-face-in-6D tangent-bundle decomposition (App K §K.4: rank 3 × Galois 2 × dim 3 = 18) enters as a 6D-ambient consistency cross-check, not as a second independent icosahedral anchor (see Parameter Ledger §0.1 P3, App H O.26). The sharper RG-running claim at the renormalization-flow level is the residual Tier 3 physical-link conjecture, tracked at Open Problem O.15(b). Empirical i-AlPdMn measurements give to , 100-1000× larger than the GCT prediction; the gap is attributed to chemical-bonding contamination but is unquantified (App K §K.4b).
Vacuum Hydrodynamics
- : The superfluid density, representing the macroscopic amplitude of the vacuum order parameter.
- : The superfluid phase, representing the degree of freedom of the condensate.
- : The superfluid velocity field.
- : The phason displacement vector in perpendicular space.
- : The phason strain tensor, describing the gradient of topological rearrangements.
Gravitational and Cosmological Parameters
- : The emergent acoustic metric tensor experienced by excitations in the vacuum.
- : Newton’s gravitational constant, derived from the information saturation limit of the lattice (Volume 1, Chapter 13).
- : The cosmological constant, treated as a dynamic scalar pressure generated by biogenic driving.
Dark Sector Parameters
- : The glass order parameter (), where represents a perfect crystal and represents a fully relaxed liquid.
- : The internal stress field of the vacuum lattice.
- : The scalar phason field, representing the volume density of the internal dimensions. Distinct from the Golden Ratio .
- : The information generation rate (bits per second) of the collective selection operators.
- : The dimensionless dark energy coupling constant relating biological information generation to metric expansion.
The Tier Classification System
We categorize all claims by their epistemic status (see Global Front Matter §01_Epistemic_Tier_System for complete definitions):
- Tier 1 (Structural Axiom): Results following necessarily from axioms + mathematics.
- Tier 1/2 (Uniqueness-Justified Structural Postulate): Results uniquely forced by parsimony and the Uniqueness Absolute, but whose imposition is itself an architectural commitment not deductively forced by the Ontological Axioms alone.
- Tier 2 (Geometric / Structural): Results following from the specific icosahedral quasicrystal ansatz.
- Tier 3 (Phenomenological / Calibrated): Models calibrated to observation where first-principles derivation is incomplete.
- Tier 4 (Speculative / Exploratory): Exploratory calculations (numerical coefficient uncertain by >1 OOM with explicit bounds) or ontological extensions (omitted from journal submissions).
The closure target is a one-anchor core system, but the present cosmology notation follows the current-state accounting of Parameter Ledger §0.1-§4. The phason-stiffness integer side is Tier 2 with a Tier 3 RG-running physical-link conjecture; B/C-sector cosmological magnitudes such as , the numerical evaluation, , and the biogenic channel fingerprint are Tier 3 calibrated or state-level quantities unless explicitly marked otherwise in the Ledger.
